About Kim Krause Berg

In 1995, during a mediated divorce, I taught myself HTML on an old IBM PC with floppy disks and a 9600-baud modem. At the time, I shared custody of my two children, received no alimony or child support, and had no job because I had been a stay-at-home mom.

In 1996, the first employer I interviewed with hired me to design, build, and optimize websites for search engines. Over the past 31 years, I have worked for companies, run my own consultancy, written nearly 200 articles on UX, accessibility, and SEO, taught SEO, owned six websites, contributed to several books as an invited author, published my own online resources, spoken at conferences, and founded an online forum for web designers and marketers in 1998. The forum ran for 20 years.

My background spans UX, SEO, accessibility, conversion design, and information architecture. I ultimately found my place in accessibility because creating inclusive digital experiences is my passion.

I remarried 22 years ago and now have three grandchildren, two horses, and a home in the country. I work full time in fintech as a Senior Accessibility Designer. This website began as a way to teach myself AI and explore how it fits into my life and work.

Dancing Thunder’s Playground was my first website, built in 1995 as my personal self teaching site. In 1996 I bought the domain, Cre8pc (means Create Peace) and built that website as an SEO and UX teaching site. Cre8asiteforums was launched in 1998.
